Single Viola Plants (mature and blooming)

from $6.00

Small delicate blooms with delicious edible petals that may be tossed into salads or used to garnish beverages. The pretty flowers may also be candied. Of course, many simply place them in outdoor planters or indoor pots for traditional spring decor.

All viola seed was started in organic-approved potting soil here at Spencer Brook Farm. Choose from 4 unique color varieties as plain potless soil-block, in a clay pot, or in a small burlap bag

4 inch clay pot w/saucer: $13.00 ea  or   2 for $25

4 inch burlap bag : $9.00 ea

4 inch soil mound (no container):

$6.00 ea OR

3 for $15

5 for $20

7 for $25

Please note that all the “antique” varieties can vary widely in flower color from plant to plant, while Penny Marina produces a predictable pale blue flower on each plant.

Violas are very cold-hardy plants, but should be protected from freezing temperatures. We keep them covered overnight until end of March/beginning of April. If significant frost does occur, the flowers can be damaged, but the plant does recover. On our farm, they stop flowering in the heat of summer but begin to bloom again in the fall and self-seed in the garden to bring many early violas the following spring.

*Plants ordered on-line before farm stand is officially open may still pick up plants on Thursdays or Fridays between 1 and 6. You will receive an email confirmation with pick-up instructions shortly after placing order.
