About Us
We purchased Spencer Brook Farm in 2020 with the intention to grow as much of our own food as possible. Since then, we have been working to improve the soil for the garden and grazing areas, reduce invasive plant populations, and slowly expand the diversity of native species across the property.
We grow a wide range of annual and perennial fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers in raised beds and try to avoid tillage. We care for chickens and icelandic sheep in rotational grazing systems. We follow all organic practices and dabble in some Biodynamics. We work to minimize the use of plastics by taking steps such as starting seeds in soil blocks and opting for natural building materials, like untreated wood, whenever possible.
Once the basic farm systems and plans were in place, it seemed only natural to share some of our experience and bounty with the community. The tiny farm stand opened in the summer of 2024. There we hope to provide a little gardening inspiration and practical examples of regenerative and sustainable growing practices.
